Job summary

The Clinical Technician I EMU - Overnights and Rotating is with The University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, supporting the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) by operating EEG and AV equipment to monitor patients. Qualifications

• One year of health care experience involving direct patient care.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families and staff.
• Ability to multitask and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare area and materials for patient testing in the EMU.
• Record EMU studies with EEG/AV equipment and ensure quality of recordings.
• Identify clinical/electrographic events and respond appropriately.
• Assist in training new personnel to operate EEG/AV equipment.
• Troubleshoot EEG/AV equipment and electrodes as needed.
• Escort patients to examination rooms and assist higher-level staff.
