Job summary

UF Health North in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Monitor Technician for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). This part-time role covers 24 hours per week, with shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, supporting continuous ECG rhythm monitoring and seizure observation.

The candidate will document activity, maintain EMU equipment, and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patient safety. Required is a GED or high school diploma; preferred candidates may have PCA/Medic Corpsman or nursing student

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required; healthcare experience preferred.
• Basic medical terminology and safety procedures are essential.
• EKG/dysrhythmia knowledge is required or pursued after hire.
• Experience monitoring EMU patients and recognizing seizure activity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor EKG rhythms for patients in EMU.
• Recognize dysrhythmias and notify the nurse of changes.
• Produce rhythm strips for telemetry patients.
• Inventory and maintain EMU equipment.
• Observe all patients on EMU therapy and document seizure activity.
