Job summary

Pilgrim in Marshalltown, IA is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health RN/LPN/EMT for a full-time, third-shift role on site. You will respond to on-site medical emergencies, administer first aid, and advise on treatment while maintaining OSHA records and the hearing conservation program.

You must hold RN/LPN/EMT licensure, CPR, CAOHC or be able to obtain certification within six months, and have familiarity with EMR systems and audiometry testing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • State RN, LPN or EMT license required.
  • 1 year of experience in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic.
  • CPR and CAOHC certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience withElectronic Medical Records and hearing tests.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to medical emergencies on company property and provide first aid.
  • Advise injured personnel on medical treatment and screen for further care.
  • Maintain OSHA records and hearing conservation program documentation.
  • Perform pre-employment health screening and review physician reports.
  • Keep confidential medical records and ensure proper use of protective equipment.

Type of position: Full-time

Hours: 3 rd shift

General Description:

Respond to the scene of medical emergencies occurring on company property and administer first aid and/or medical assistance. Advise injured and ill personnel concerning additional medical treatment; able to dispense non-prescription medication. Safely dispose hazardous materials, s uch as bandages, needles, etc. Maintain an adequate inventory of appropriate medical supplies and take action to obtain new or replace ol d medical emergency equipment. Perform audiometric testing, establish baseline data and per form annual follow-up testing. Assist with the hearing conservation program ; ensure that protective equipment is appropriate and properly used. Prepare accident reports in coordination with the supervisors and maintain records of all personn el treated. Maintain OSHA records concerning repo rtable illnesses and injuries. Perform pre-empl oyment health and drug screen. Review physician reports on employee’s health, workers’ compensation insurance claims, medical restrictions on employee’s work and the policies and procedures of the medical department.

Required skills:

  • CPR Certification
  • CAOHC hearing conservation certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Perform screening examinations including vision, audiometry and spirometry.
  • Refer abnormal and questionable findings to the O ccupational H ealth M anager.
  • Assist with obtaining health history and referring to appropriate *individual as needed.
  • Work full time and every other Saturday as needed .
  • Maintain a nursing recordkeeping system that meets legal requirements.
  • Assure confidentiality.
  • Bi-lingual speaking preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable and effective in medical emergency situations.
  • Familiar with musculoskeletal disorders and treatment of such disorders.
  • Flexible to work different hours and shifts as needed.

Education Requirements (if applicable)

  • High school diploma or equivalent .
  • State issued RN, LPN or EMT license is required .
  • 1 year of experience in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic.
