Job summary

Central Oregon Community College invites applications for an Instructional Assistant – Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to support the EMT course director in lab instruction and student evaluation.

Responsibilities include assisting with EMT lab instruction, coordinating with the EMS program staff, and ensuring effective use of AV equipment and instructional resources. This is a temporary part-time hourly position at Bend campus, starting for the 2026-2027 year.

Qualifications

• One year of pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency care experience.
• Thorough knowledge of EMT concepts and out-of-hospital care.
• Experience teaching or instructing diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with audio-visual equipment and classroom tech.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to review training materials and apply new concepts.
• Ability to work with program directors, faculty and staff.
• Willingness to travel and teach at various hours/locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction in the EMT course lab under the EMT course director.
• Cooperate with COCC EMS program staff in all lab activities and settings.
