Job summary

CATEC in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking an EMT Hourly Skills Support instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time, hourly role supports the EMT instructor on an as-needed basis, delivering hands-on instruction and skill development to students in the EMT program.

The position requires current EMT and NREMT certifications with 1+ year of EMS experience, plus CPR credentials. You will assess student performance and maintain records while ensuring compliance with OEMS standards

Qualifications

• Current EMT certification or higher for a minimum of 1 year.
• National Registry EMT certification (NREMT) or higher for a minimum of 1 year.
• 1–3 years of progressive field experience in an emergency medical setting.
• Current VA OEMS-approved CPR certification.
• Current AHA CPR Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lab instruction and skill-based assessments aligned with the EMT curriculum
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to support mastery of skills
• Maintain accurate documentation of student competencies and attendance
• Ensure compliance with Virginia OEMS and program accreditation standards
• Collaborate with the instructor to support student success
