Job summary

Mercy EMS seeks a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to provide direct patient care in pre-hospital settings. You will perform assessments, administer basic life support, and work under Mercy Health System guidelines.

Applicants must hold an EMT license for the state, a valid driver's license, and be at least 19 years old. Hazmat Awareness, BLS, and NIMS certifications within 90 days are required; shifts may vary, and physical demands are extensive.

Qualifications

• Education: None.
• Licensure: EMT license for the state where employed, valid driver's license.
• Experience: Applicants must be at least 19 years of age to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Certifications/Registration: Hazmat Awareness, BLS for Healthcare Providers, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within 90 days of hire.
• Other: May be required to work differing shifts and schedules.
• Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: extensive physical demands including CPR, lifting and moving patients and equipment in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care including assessment, evaluation and BLS interventions.
• Works within Mercy EMS standards of care and safety.
• May perform clerical, dispatch, and maintenance duties as required.
