Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks an EMT to provide care and transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients in the pre-hospital environment. The Basic EMT will operate an ambulance safely and maintain required certifications and continuing education.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and Basic EMT certification, with EVOC within 3 months of hire and a valid driver's license. Commitment to patient advocacy and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic EMT certification in state of practice is required.
• Valid State Driver’s License is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support (AHA) required.
• EVOC required within 3 months of hire.
• 1 year of incident-free driving experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls and performs patient assessments.
• Provides basic airway management.
• Provides CPR and use of AED.
• Participates in required trainings.
• Provides proper care and safe transport.
• Maintains reports and records.
• Cares for vehicle and equipment.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and advocates for patient/family rights.
