Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an EMT I for the night shift to provide essential pre-hospital care and safe transport from Fort Wayne, IN. You will perform basic emergency procedures, monitor vitals, and document activities in the EMR under supervision of a Paramedic or clinical lead.

The role emphasizes teamwork, infection control, PPE use, and rapid response in a high-paced EMS setting. A state-approved EMT program and a valid MDOT Medical Physical are required.

Qualifications

• EMT training from a state-approved program is required.
• EMT Advanced course is preferred.
• Experience in hospital ED, ambulance, or critical care transport is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care per scope of practice and policies.
• Assist with patient assessment, vitals, and care under supervision.
• Administer first aid including CPR, bleeding control, and immobilization.
• Safely operate emergency vehicles and conduct equipment checks.
• Document information in the EMR accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with team to ensure continuity of care during transfers.
