Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks an EMT I to provide essential pre-hospital care and transportation within the EMS department.

You will support patient care under supervision of a Paramedic or clinical lead, maintain equipment, and document patient information while promoting safety and communication within the EMS team. Responsibilities include assisting with patient assessments, administering basic emergency care, operating emergency vehicles, and ensuring readiness through vehicle checks

Qualifikationen

• Technical School completion of a state-approved EMT training program required.
• Technical School EMT Advanced course preferred.
• Experience in hospital-based ED, ambulance service, or critical care transport unit preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provides basic emergency medical care in accordance with scope of practice and policies.
• Assists with patient assessment, vital signs, and care under supervision.
• Administers CPR, wound care, bleeding control, immobilization, and breathing support as assigned.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely per hospital policy and traffic laws.
• Performs vehicle and equipment checks at shift start for readiness and compliance.
• Maintains and restocks supplies and equipment for patient care.
• Follows PPE and infection control procedures and completes EMR documentation accurately.
• Escalates patient care or operational concerns through chain of command.
• Collaborates with paramedics, nurses, and physicians to ensure continuity of care on transfer.
