Job summary

Breckenridge Village (BV) in Tyler, TX seeks an EMT Team member to provide short-term medical coverage, first aid, and emergency care for adults with IDD. Must hold EMT Basic in Texas and be able to drive residents to appointments.

Responsibilities include following BV policies, maintaining documentation, collaborating with BV staff, and remaining calm in busy, sometimes austere conditions. Eligible candidates should be dependable, compassionate, and able to work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid EMT Basic certification in Texas and current certification in residence state.
• Must have either high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 1 year experience with IDD adults.
• Care provider experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical support and transport services based on assignment.
• Perform clinic duties and apply basic or advanced skills per certification.
• Respond to medical needs and emergencies with calm, professional care.
• Maintain documentation and reporting per BV policies and procedures.
• Identify and report signs of abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with BV staff and leadership to ensure health, safety, and well-being.
