Job summary

Healthcare in Action, Inc. seeks an EMT to join the Garden Grove Mobile Crisis Response Team, delivering mobile medical care and crisis stabilization in the field with GGPD.

You will operate the response vehicle, perform basic medical assessments, assist de-escalation, and connect individuals to medical, behavioral health, and social services. Field-based in Garden Grove with some on-site time; CA EMT certification, BLS/CPR, and a clean driving record required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current, unrestricted California EMT certification required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Valid California Driver's License required with clean driving record.
• 2+ years EMT or comparable field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the mobile response vehicle.
• Perform basic medical assessment and determine need for higher care.
• Assist in de-escalation and triage with clinician teammate.
• Coordinate with first responders and arrange transportation as needed.
• Link individuals to HIA street medicine, community providers, or DMH services.
