Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide Basic Life Support for emergency and non-emergency transport in New Jersey. You will assess patients, deliver pre-hospital care, document reports, and coordinate with EMS, police, fire and hospital staff.

Requirements include NJ EMT certification or NR EMT with NJ reciprocity, BLS, valid driver’s license, EVOC/related certifications, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• NJ EMT certification or NR EMT with NJ reciprocity required (within 6 months for non-NJ).
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with MS Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls in a timely manner.
• Assists and supports public safety and healthcare teams during patient care.
• Performs pre-hospital Basic Life Support according to patient condition.
• Documents patient information and transfers care with proper handoffs.
• Operates EMS vehicle safely and performs routine vehicle checks.
