Job summary

Mercy is seeking an EMT-I to perform direct patient care, assessment and basic life support in the Mercy EMS system. The role may include clerical, dispatch and maintenance duties as required, with flexibility for different shifts.

A valid EMT license in the employing state is required, along with basic certifications and a pre-hire fitness test. Applicants should be at least 19 years old to operate Mercy EMS vehicles and complete required Hazmat Awareness, BLS, and NIMS trainings within 90 days

Qualifications

EMT license valid in the state of employment.
Must be at least 19 years old to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
Hazmat Awareness, BLS for Healthcare Providers, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within 90 days of hire.
May be required to work differing shifts and schedules.
Pre-hire and annual fitness for duty tests will be required.

Responsibilities

Performs direct patient care including assessment, evaluation and basic life support.
Works per Mercy Health System goals and Employee Code of Conduct.
Operates equipment such as a monitor/defibrillator/pacer, stretcher and related kits.
May perform clerical, dispatch and maintenance duties as required.
Adapts to varying shifts and schedules as assigned.
