Job summary

Universal Health Services in California seeks a Patient Care Technician (PACU) to provide direct patient care and support to the recovery team. The role includes monitoring vital signs, assisting with patient transport, and ensuring comfort during the postoperative period.

The candidate should have a California CNA or EMT certification, valid BLS, and six months of EMT/CNA experience preferred; dysrhythmia certification is a plus and must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months’ experience working as an EMT/CNA preferred.
• Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate or California EMT.
• BLS (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Basic dysrhythmia certification (preferred) or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and observe cardiac rhythms in PACU.
• Assist with patient transport, safety, and comfort during recovery.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition and assist in emergency response.
• Help maintain a safe, well‑stocked PACU environment and promote high‑quality post‑operative recovery.
