Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking an EMT-Basic to join a metropolitan ambulance service offering emergency and non-emergency transport. You will document patient findings and billing information on the care record and provide care in high-pressure settings.

Requirements include NC EMT-Basic or EMT certification, BLS, NIMS 100/200/700, and a valid driver’s license. Prior EMS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification by the State of North Carolina as an EMT-Basic or EMT required.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as sponsored by American Heart Association required.
• Completion of NIMS 100, 200, & 700 required.
• Possess and maintain a current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, thoroughly clean, inventory, and restock the ambulance assigned and report any deficiencies in equipment observed.
• Respond to calls and relocate as directed by supervisor or dispatcher; assist in transporting patients.
• Provide medical care including airway management, bleeding control, splinting, and bandaging.
• Drive an ambulance safely and in accordance with good driving practices.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
