Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School (or GED) diploma.
• Certification or licensure as EMT-Basic by Texas DSHS.
• Successful completion of a DSHS-approved EMT-B course and passing the National Registry exam.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with restriction “A” permissible.
• NIMS courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.A within 80 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides out-of-hospital emergency medical care, stabilization, and safe transport for medical emergencies or injuries.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and assess patient condition.
• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR, airway management, bleeding control, and oxygen delivery.
