Job summary

Acadian Ambulance Service is hiring an EMT-Basic in McKinney, Texas for full-time emergency response and transport. You will provide essential basic life support, drive the ambulance safely under protocols, and document patient care during EMS runs.

The role requires EMT-Basic certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license. You will work with a team to ensure timely patient care and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license (Louisiana Class D equivalent or applicable).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to interact with staff and managers.
• Knowledge of EMS protocols, safety policies and operational procedures.
• Ability to operate large vehicles under normal and adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct careful patient examinations for signs of illness or injury and assist medical personnel as needed.
• Provide prompt Basic Life Support care in accordance with licensure and protocols during transport.
• Safely transfer patients to and from the ambulance and to the receiving facility.
• Document patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports; complete required forms.
• Maintain unit inventory and test equipment to ensure readiness.
• Drive and operate the ambulance following company driving guidelines and safety rules.
• Precept EMT-Basics or students if assigned; perform other duties as needed.
