Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley is offering a full-time EMT trainee program. Classes begin in Danville with 3 days a week at GWV and 2 days at EMS stations.

Earn $15.00 per hour during the training, with classroom instruction Monday through Friday and occasional Saturday sessions. Upon successful EMT certification, transition to an EMT position with a pay increase and a two-year employment commitment after program completion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Operates the emergency vehicle in compliance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code to ensure safe travel.
• Communicates and coordinates with dispatchers, supervisors, and other leaders.
• Maintains the equipment and vehicles and reports any deficiencies.
• Accurately documents patient care and transportation.
• On-the-job training covers regulatory requirements, CPR, AEDs, First Aid, customer service, EMT program, EVOC, lifting and more.
