Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our Ambulance Services team at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. The EMT will perform BLS, respond to emergencies, maintain apparatus readiness, and support ALS equipment with the paramedic team.

This on-site role offers shift options (days, evenings, nights), with required holidays and weekends, and a base pay range of $16.68–$26.31 per hour plus additional rewards.

Qualifications

• EMT licensure by Missouri DHSS.
• Chauffeur driver's license; class E or higher for Missouri residents.
• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures and patient care.
• Assess patient history and conduct physical examinations.
• Maintain readiness of ambulances and equipment; ensure safe operation of Emergency Vehicle.
• Assist Paramedic partners; familiar with ALS equipment and cardiac monitors.
• Prepare accurate written reports for QA/QI and patient billing.
• Maintain required licenses and certifications; participate in mandatory classes and department duties.
