Job summary

MU Health Care in Columbia, MO is seeking a compassionate Paramedic (EMT-P or EMT-CP) to join the Emergency Department team. This full-time, on-site role features three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will assess and respond to patients' medical needs, manage medications, and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality interventions and outcomes. A Missouri DHSS paramedic license is required; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Paramedic licensure (EMT-P or EMT-CP) by Missouri DHSS.
• One year of paramedic experience preferred.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and apply interventions within the scope of practice.
• Assess, intervene, and reassess patient pain symptoms; educate about medications.
• Demonstrate understanding of medications, actions and side effects; report to the appropriate clinician.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and outcomes.
• Maintain hospital and department policies and participate in quality/improvement initiatives.
• Assist in transport of critical patients and work with a multidisciplinary team.
