Job summary

EMS Unlimited is seeking an EMT for Fort Leavenworth, KS, supporting a 24/7/365 ground ambulance operation under a US Army contract. You will work alongside a Nationally Registered Paramedic on a 24/48 or 48/96 schedule, delivering BLS care and transporting patients while maintaining vehicle readiness.

Requirements include current NREMT, BLS, EVOC, valid driver's license, and US citizenship or work authorization, with the ability to pass a military background check.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current NREMT certification.
• Minimum 1 year EMT experience within the last 2 years.
• Current BLS certification — AHA or ARC (no online-only courses).
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Completion of an approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).
• Ability to pass a U.S. Army installation background investigation (NACI or equivalent).
• U.S. citizenship or authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls within 2 minutes of dispatch from the assigned area of responsibility.
• Perform patient assessments and deliver BLS care per Kansas EMS protocols and Medical Director standing orders.
• Operate as part of a two-person ALS crew alongside a Nationally Registered Paramedic.
• Safely operate an emergency transport vehicle to and from scenes and receiving facilities.
• Complete ZOLL EMS Charts/ ePCRs within 2 hours of each patient encounter.
• Conduct daily vehicle readiness checks at the start of each shift; document in PSTrax.
• Maintain ALS equipment, supplies, and oxygen at established PAR levels.
• Operate as part of the Fort Leavenworth installation emergency response plan under the Incident Commander.
• Provide assistance to Fort Leavenworth Army Corrections Command incidents when requested.
• Complete all government-required training within required timelines: AT Level I (30 days), PII, HIPAA, OPSEC, iWATCH, MHS Genesis.
• Adhere to Fort Leavenworth installation security and contractor conduct standards.
