EMS Unlimited seeks a Kansas-licensed EMT to join their Fort Leavenworth emergency response team. The EMT will provide BLS care, support a two-person ALS crew, and transport patients to receiving facilities on a 24/7 schedule.

Responsibilities include rapid response, patient assessment, ePCR documentation, and adherence to Army security and training timelines. A competitive W-2 position with a Health & Wellness benefit is offered.

Qualifications

Current, valid Kansas EMT license (KBEMS).
Current NREMT certification.
Minimum 1 year EMT experience within the last 2 years.
Current BLS certification — AHA or ARC (no online-only).
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Completion of EVOC training.
U.S. citizenship or authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Respond to emergency calls within the defined area and respond quickly to dispatches.
Perform patient assessments and deliver BLS care per Kansas EMS protocols.
Operate as part of a two-person ALS crew alongside a Nationally Registered Paramedic.
Safely operate an emergency transport vehicle to and from scenes and facilities.
Complete ePCRs within 2 hours of each patient encounter.
Conduct daily vehicle readiness checks at start of shift and document in PSTrax.
Maintain ALS equipment and supplies at PAR levels.
Follow Fort Leavenworth installation emergency response plan under Incident Commander.

Position Summary

The EMT provides Basic Life Support emergency medical care and transport services at Fort Leavenworth Garrison 24/7/365. Working alongside a Paramedic on a 24/48 or 48/96 rotating schedule, you respond to installation emergencies, deliver pre-hospital BLS care, transport patients to receiving facilities, and maintain vehicle and equipment readiness at all times.

Compensation

$62,000 annual equivalent
Health and Wellness benefit of $5.09/hr

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA), which requires EMS Unlimited to provide a Health & Welfare (H&W) benefit of $5.09 per hour worked. H&W is a federally mandated fringe benefit — it is not discretionary. The $5.09/hr can be applied in one of two ways: it can be directed toward your share of the company's medical benefits plan (health, dental, vision), effectively reducing or eliminating your out-of-pocket premium cost; or, if you waive employer-sponsored coverage and provide proof of other qualifying coverage, it can be paid to you as cash in lieu of benefits, added directly to your paycheck. Either way, you receive the full value — it is part of your total compensation, not a deduction from your base pay.

Duties & Responsibilities

Respond to emergency calls within 2 minutes of dispatch from within the assigned area of responsibility
Perform patient assessments and deliver BLS care per Kansas EMS protocols and Medical Director standing orders
Operate as part of a two-person ALS crew alongside a Nationally Registered Paramedic
Safely operate an emergency transport vehicle to and from scenes and receiving facilities
Complete ZOLL emsCharts ePCRs within 2 hours of each patient encounter
Conduct daily vehicle readiness checks at the start of each shift; document in PSTrax
Maintain ALS equipment, supplies, and oxygen at established PAR levels
Operate as part of the Fort Leavenworth installation emergency response plan under the Incident Commander
Provide assistance to Fort Leavenworth Army Corrections Command incidents when requested
Complete all government-required training within required timelines: AT Level I (30 days), PII, HIPAA, OPSEC, iWATCH, MHS Genesis
Adhere to all Fort Leavenworth installation security and contractor conduct standards
