Job summary

Ridgeview is seeking a dedicated EMT for full-time pre-hospital care in Waconia, MN. You will provide rapid assessment, treatment and transportation for non-critically ill or injured patients under physician medical control.

Responsibilities include basic life support, patient rapport, accurate reporting, equipment maintenance and readiness. A high school diploma, MN EMT certification and BLS are required; a valid MN driver license with insurability is needed. On-call and shift work apply.

Description

Purpose of Job:

This position is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency requests to provide efficient and immediate assessment, treatment and transportation of the non-critically ill and/or injured patient in the pre-hospital setting and other settings within the scope of training under a physician medical control authority.

Job Functions:

Provides basic life support as needed in compliance with state, local and RMC procedures.

Establishes positive rapport with each patient and patient's family ensuring a gentle and attentive transport.

Responds to emergencies by choosing route, observing traffic conditions, avoiding dangerous situations, and maintaining communications with dispatcher.

Completes reports accurately.

Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and reports necessary repairs.

• Current state of MN EMT certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous prehospital experience as an EMT responding to 911 emergencies and interfacility transfer requests.
• Experience as an ED Tech or other closely related experience in the hospital environment.
• Experience applying knowledge and skills related to the EMT scope as a firefighter or other first responder.
