Job summary

Bristol Health EMS Dispatch is a per diem role responsible for the prompt notification and activation of EMS resources for emergent and non-emergent transportation in the Bristol Health EMS service area. The dispatcher coordinates with public safety agencies, nurses and case managers to ensure smooth patient throughput and resource utilization.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of EMS experience or experience in emergency medical

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of commercial EMS experience, or emergency medical dispatching.

Responsibilities

• Receives, interprets and processes emergent and non-emergent transfers requiring EMS response.
• Prioritizes multiple EMS requests and assigns agencies by availability.
• Communicates with EMS agencies and tracks locations and demands across service area.
• Documents and reports timeliness of patient placement and throughput issues.
• Collaborates with nursing and case managers to improve bed capacity and patient flow.
