Job summary

Matanuska-Susitna Borough is seeking an EMS Training Coordinator responsible for planning and delivering training programs, evaluating EMS responders, and coordinating instructors and resources. The role requires extensive ALS/ACLS experience, paramedic background, and Alaska-specific instructor credentials.

The position emphasizes adherence to Borough policies and core values, with duties including curriculum development, simulation training, and involvement in licensing processes.

Qualifications

• ACLS level emergency care experience.
• Supervisory experience in EMS or related field.
• Paramedic licensure at hire or within 6 months.
• Alaska EMT Instructor certifications or within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information from diverse sources to assess EMS responders’ proficiency.
• Create tools to measure medic performance and interpret results.
• Plan and implement EMS training and instruction.
• Coordinate training tasks and instructors.
• Deliver training courses in EMS disciplines.
• Coordinate scheduling and activities of on-call EMS instructors.
• Operate simulation manikins and equipment.
• Maintain proficiency and support EMS operations as needed.
