Job summary

North Slope Borough is seeking a Training and Development Manager - EMS to develop and implement plans for improving EMS ground ambulance operations and EMS training for the North Slope Borough Fire Department. The role will teach basic life support to a diverse student population and participate in teaching activities, with duties evolving to meet department needs.

The position emphasizes planning, scheduling, evaluation of training programs, and slide-based or hands-on instruction, including

Qualifications

Experience teaching EMS at the Basic Life Support level to diverse student populations.
Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate EMS training and development.
State licensure requirements or the ability to obtain Alaska licensure within the hire period.

Responsibilities

Provide planning, scheduling and coordination for the Fire Department as designated by the Deputy Fire Chief.
Identify, plan and coordinate emergency medical services training for the North Slope Borough Fire Department.
Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness.
Offer specific training programs to help fire department members maintain or improve job skills.
Coordinate and assist in training and development programs for employees based on projected job requirements.
