Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Windber, PA to lead a team of Manufacturing and Process Engineers on high-mix/low-volume PCBA production. You’ll optimize SMT and through-hole lines, guide NPI transitions to full-scale manufacturing, and implement lean improvements to boost efficiency and quality.

The role emphasizes DFM reviews, capital equipment selection, and the deployment of smart-factory technologies in a state-of-the-art EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5–8+ years in an EMS/high-mix/low-volume PCBA environment.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of automated SMT configurations and soldering metallurgy.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100/ISO 13485 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing and Process Engineers; manage department budget, projects, and KPIs.
• Define and continuously improve PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, reflow, selective/ wave solder, conformal coating).
• Oversee NPI to high-yield production transitions; ensure robust DFM reviews.
• Drive capital equipment selection, IQ/OQ/PQ, robotics, and smart‑factory technology.
• Lead Lean and 5S initiatives to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and eliminate waste.
