Job summary

Durham County Government is seeking a skilled supply chain professional to manage EMS inventory, procurement, and distribution of medical supplies, drugs, and PPE. You will ensure compliance with DEA/OSHA standards, coordinate with EMS leadership, and optimize processes to support patient care across EMS stations and vehicles.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, six months of supervisory experience, and a valid NC driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Six months of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a three-year acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of DEA and OEMS regulations relating to medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
  • Ability to forecast supply needs and optimize logistical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees warehouse inventory and delivery of EMS equipment, prescription stock, narcotics, and uniforms.
  • Guides, coordinates, and reviews staff work; maintains standards and timelines.
  • Works with OES administration to achieve division supply-chain goals.
  • Receives supply requests via email, phone, and in person; prioritizes tasks.
  • Ensures on-time, intact, cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Creates and updates procedures to predict future product needs.
  • Monitors problems affecting operations and patient care; notifies administration.
  • Develops relationships with suppliers, logistics staff, and county staff.
  • Oversees inventory system and checks stock levels at EMS stations and vehicles.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for medical materials.
