Job summary

Iredell County EMS is seeking an entry-level EMS Logistics Technician to manage and maintain supply levels on ambulances and EMS bases. You will work with staff at outlying stations to ensure equipment availability, while upholding infection control guidelines and performing inventory-related clerical tasks.

Responsibilities include restocking warehouses, delivering stock to stations, maintaining supply bins, and performing data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NC driver's license required.
• Preferred EMS logistics, supply and inventory tracking experience.
• Ability to follow infection control procedures and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized supply warehouse.
• Restock incoming supplies in the warehouse.
• Pull and deliver stock requisitions to outlying stations.
• Create supply bins for ambulances.
• Clean and decontaminate ambulances per infection control guidelines.
• Assist with inventory data entry and verification.
• Maintain knowledge of par level analysis.
• Ensure equipment and medications are within expiration and purge expired supplies.
• Handle clerical tracking such as stat issues/transfers and discrepancies.

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE:

Under general supervision of the EMS Logistics Coordinator, the EMS Logistics Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining supply levels on ambulances and EMS bases, ensuring that patient-care equipment is available and in good condition. This entry-level position involves working closely with staff at outlying stations to manage supplies and equipment, while adhering to infection control guidelines and performing clerical tasks related to inventory management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in maintaining a clean and well-organized supply warehouse.
• Restocks incoming supplies in the supply warehouse.
• Pulls and delivers stock requisitions to outlying stations.
• Creates supply bins for use in ambulances.
• Cleans and decontaminates ambulances per infection control guidelines.
• Assists with physical inventory data entry and comparison verification.
• Maintains working knowledge of inventory par level analysis.
• Ensures all equipment and medications are within expiration and purges expired supplies.
• Performs clerical tracking including stat issues/transfers, verifying stock discrepancies, filing, and other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs other related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and supplies used in the emergency care of the sick and injured.
• Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form to individuals and groups to convey information effectively.
• Ability to actively look for ways to help staff work more efficiently.
• Ability to maintain knowledge of Iredell County EMS System procedures, and Iredell County EMS operating guidelines.
• Attend mandatory paid continuing education required to maintain certification.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and exposure control methods.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE “REQUIREMENTS”:

The candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License.

It is preferred that the candidate possess experience in EMS logistics, supply and inventory tracking and management.
