Job summary

Dare County seeks an EMS aircraft maintenance technician to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on EMS helicopters under the supervision of the EMS Aircraft Maintenance Director.

The role requires inspecting, testing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing aircraft per FAA and manufacturer guidelines, keeping records, and updating software. Applicants must have an FAA A&P license, 2–5 years of related experience, and live within 1 hour of the MedFlight Hangar.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Considerable experience (2 to 5 years) in aircraft maintenance or equivalent.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
• Ability to pass comprehensive pre-employment screenings and DOT/FAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aircraft in EMS readiness; performs scheduled maintenance and inspections per FAA and manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect, test, diagnose, maintain, and repair helicopter systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, avionics).
• Determine airworthiness and inspect maintenance documents.
• Maintain aircraft records and documentation.
• Update computer maintenance/inventory tracking software.
• Maintain parts inventory, orders, and receipt of supplies.
• Provide technical guidance to others.
• Attend company training events as directed.
• Drive and operate assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hangar/station housekeeping and other duties.
