Job summary

Public Consulting Group is seeking a Consultant to assist with EMS, fire services, and Medicaid financing projects for state and local government clients. You will analyze complex policies, build financial models, and deliver client-facing reports while supporting business development.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, strong communication, and project management across multiple workstreams. Remote-friendly, some travel to client engagements and conferences may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in public-sector consulting, healthcare financing, EMS.
• Experience managing client-facing projects.
• Strong writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and becomes a subject matter expert in EMS, fire services, Medicaid financing, reimbursement programs, and public-sector consulting operations.
• Evaluates client programs and develops recommendations to improve operational effectiveness and financial sustainability.
• Analyzes and interprets federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Assesses industry best practices and provides technical assistance and strategic guidance to clients.
• Manages projects, staff, and assigned tasks with limited supervision while meeting performance expectations.
• Facilitates client meetings, stakeholder discussions, workshops, and presentations.
• Leads proposal development efforts, including writing technical sections and coordinating contributors.
• Develops written reports, financial analyses, presentations, and other client-facing materials.
• Conducts research and analysis related to healthcare reimbursement and public-sector initiatives.
