Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a Director of Engineering to lead EMS/PCBA engineering and document control. You will drive advanced engineering capabilities, capital investments, and NPI execution while collaborating with Operations, Quality, and senior leadership.

You will mentor teams, set engineering standards and KPIs, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards across aerospace, defense, and medical sectors. A strategic, data-driven leader is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in EMS/contract manufacturing.
• Minimum 5+ years leading NPI and manufacturing process development.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a high-reliability SMT/PCBA environment.
• Background in regulated sectors (A&D, Medical Devices, High-Reliability).

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering and Document Control departments, setting priorities and driving on-time deliverables.
• Mentor and upskill engineering personnel to build technical depth and cross-functional collaboration.
• Define engineering standards, SOPs, and KPIs for safety, quality, yield, and throughput.
• Forecast resource demands including staffing, training, software tools, and capital equipment.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements and problem-solving across the organization.
• Oversee NPI lifecycle from quoting to full-scale production ramp and documentation control.
• Interface with customers, BD, and PM to review designs, assess risk, and enable project feasibility.
• Provide DFM/DFT input for quotes and guide reviews to optimize yield and costs.
• Steer inspection, test, and process validation planning (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ECO management.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, aerospace, defense, and medical regulatory standards.
