Job summary

J-Tech is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in developing and implementing product improvements for manufacturing solutions. You will oversee technical documentation, BOMs, and cross-functional coordination to ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and cost effectiveness.

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations, you will drive projects from concept through production, manage external engineering relationships, and mentor engineering staff in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, product development, or related environment.
• Experience leading engineering projects from concept through production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability.
• Experience creating technical specs, BOMs, and controlled engineering documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership for product improvements and manufacturing solutions.
• Refine wheelbase calculations, electrical system interfaces, mounting requirements for truck chassis.
• Identify and solve engineering challenges using data-driven methods.
• Collaborate with Production to implement improvements with minimal disruption.
• Oversee BOMs, work instructions, and engineering documentation for projects.
• Develop technical documentation and bid specifications for DOTs and other agencies.
• Lead cross-functional product improvement projects from concept to production.
• Coach and develop engineering team members; establish timelines and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and protect proprietary information.
