City of Grand Junction seeks an Emergency Medical Technician to provide rapid response to emergency and non-emergency medical calls, assist paramedics, and transport patients to hospitals. The role includes data collection, reporting, equipment maintenance, and involvement in training and public safety education.

Required Colorado EMT or National Registry EMT certification, CPR, valid driver license, color vision, and ability to pass a physical.

Formación

• Colorado EMT Certification or National Registry EMT Certification upon hire.
• CPR certificate upon hire.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid Colorado Driver's License.
• Must be able to distinguish red and green.
• Must successfully complete a candidate level 1582 physical.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, National Incident Management System 100/200/700/800.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, Hazardous Materials Awareness certificate.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, Driver Operator certificate.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency medical calls; assist paramedics; transport patients to hospitals.
• Obtain medical data including patient identification, medical history, type of injury or illness, and changes in diagnostic signs.
• Prepare, submit, and maintain EMS activity reports.
• Perform station maintenance and report deficiencies.
• Operate and maintain emergency equipment and vehicles; monitor inventory and supplies.
• Participate in drills, training, and EMS-related activities.
• Maintain relevant certifications and training for EMS duties.
• Engage in public relations and safety education activities.
