Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced EMS Educator to design, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive EMS educational programs for a West Virginia setting. You will teach foundational and advanced EMS concepts, supervise simulations, and ensure adherence to state and national standards while mentoring staff and managing credentialing processes.

Qualifications

• Must hold WV OEMS Parametric License and National Registry Paramedic Registration.
• Instructor certifications or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience in EMS education and clinical practice is required.
• Strong data analysis and record-keeping skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple education projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate EMS educational programs and training.
• Provide instruction on EMS concepts, patient care, procedures, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with EMS standards and credentialing processes.
• Create and update curriculum materials and assessments.
• Facilitate hands-on training and simulations for learners.
• Mentor EMS staff and coordinate continuing education.

Job description

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs and training for EMS personnel
• Provide instruction on foundational and advanced EMS concepts, patient care, medical procedures, and safety protocols
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and national EMS standards
• Create and update curriculum materials
• Facilitate hands‑on training exercises
• Assess EMS student performance and knowledge
• Mentor EMS staff and provide continuing education
• Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate EMS educational program offerings
• Evaluate learner performance, provide feedback, and develop remediation plans
• Calculate and submit grades; maintain program, course, and student/participant records; prepare and submit data and reports
• Participate in continuing professional development programs
• Participate in emergency training and train others on safety
• Assist in managing the online Learning Management System (LMS)
• Support EMS simulation education
• Assist in managing EMS instructors
• Assist in managing the National Registry and WVOEMS Provider Portal
• Maintain the education calendar and keep course information current
• Assist new hires with credentialing and current employees with recertifications
• Manage EMS clinician licensure and certification compliance
• Manage the Field Training Evaluation Program (FTEP)
• Assist Operations as a clinician or shift supervisor when needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current National Registry Paramedic Registration
• WV OEMS Paramedic License within 3 months of hire
• WV OEMS C3IFT Paramedic Endorsement within 6 months of hire
• Valid Driver's License
• Certified WV EMS Instructor within six months of hire
• Current AHA, NAEMT, and/or National Association of EMS Educators Instructor Certifications, or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• Five years of experience as an EMS Clinician
• Two years of experience as an EMS Educator
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to read, understand, curate, and analyze data
• Ability to utilize and master required computing systems
• Ability to understand and solve complex problems
• People management skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects with competing and changing priorities
• Unencumbered ability to work legally in a healthcare setting in West Virginia and follow all Federal, State, and Local statutes, rules, and regulations
• Physical ability to perform moderately physically demanding work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling heavy objects
• Ability to perceive and discriminate colors, sounds, odors, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals
• Ability to communicate orally
