Job summary

Priority OnDemand in California seeks an EMT-Paramedic or RN instructor to lead the NEOP and EMS Academy programs, delivering instruction and coordinating continuing education. You will track participation using a recordkeeping system and ensure compliance with policies.

You will schedule clinical CE courses (CPR, ACLS, EMT refresher), assist with in-house or contracted EMS Academy offerings, and travel across San Bernardino County to support training initiatives.

Qualifications

Utilize a recordkeeping system to track employee training participation and progress. Assists in other tasks associated with training programs. Coordinates and tracks participation in outside training activities. May coordinate or administer skill or competency assessments, and other specialized training or development programs for employees.

Definition/Scope:

Utilize a recordkeeping system to track employee training participation and progress. Assists in other tasks associated with training programs. Coordinates and tracks participation in outside training activities. May coordinate or administer skill or competency assessments, and other specialized training or development programs for employees.

Specific Duties

• Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for instructing new employee orientation program (NEOP), to include field training officer program including CEVO/EVOC drivers training.
• Responsible for scheduling and conducting required clinical continuing education courses to include CPR, ACLS, EMT refresher, etc.
• Responsible for assisting with scheduling, coordinating, and conducting EMS Academy program either “In House” or on a contracted basis with outside educational institutions (EMT & Paramedic).
• Actively participate in recruitment through involvement in local EMS classes, conferences, and career days.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions/Body Substance Isolation when dealing with patient contacts. Is familiar with and practices the Infection Control policies and procedures of the company.
• Responsible for supporting and ensuring that all field staff maintain appropriate certification and licensure for their position to include continuing education.
• Responsible for participating in activities to improve field staff documentation.
• Assist in creation and revision of Patient Care Protocols.
• Responsible for assisting with audits of patient care reports to ensure compliance with local medical protocol, works in coordination with Education & Training Manager, CQI officer, and Operations Manager to provide feedback to field staff.
• Accepts responsibility for recertification as an EMT or current level of licensure, and for other required licenses and certifications as required by company, local, regional, and state policies, regulations, or laws.
• Always maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information in accordance HIPPA and all other local, state, and federal regulations.
• Acts always with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of others.
• Reports to assigned shifts on time, properly groomed in uniform and on time unless the proper notification has been made. Remains on duty and in proper uniform until properly relieved.
• At all times sets an example of professionalism and leadership for others to follow.
• Assures all company goals, objectives and procedures are followed daily.
• Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.
• Assists with mapping out annual training plans for management, HR, customer support and more.
• Performs other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• All EMT requirements.
• Currently licensed Paramedic or Registered Nurse.
• Two years emergency medical services training and field experience.
• Ability to teach and provide training, instruction, mentorship, and development to adult learners.
• Proficient in ambulance patient care field documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid verbal, written, presentation and communications skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team on a broad variety of projects.
• Must be punctual and able to meet deadlines as assigned.
• Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office software packages.
• Must become certified at the instructor level for CEVO and/or EVOC within one year of date of hire.
• Must become certified at the instructor level for EMT, CPR, First Aid, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, BTLS within one year of date of hire.
• Associate degree in emergency medical services preferred.
• Must be willing to travel around San Bernardino County (Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, High Desert) areas.
