Job summary

UW Health in northern Illinois is seeking EMS professionals for a per diem role at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. The position offers a varied schedule with day/evening shifts and opportunities to work around classes and educational opportunities.

The ideal candidate has an EMT-P or RN background, teaching experience preferred, and at least two years of field EMS experience. The role requires Illinois Paramedic licensure and issuance of instructor certifications within the first year.

Qualifications

• No minimum education specified.
• Two years field experience in Emergency Services required.
• Within first year, obtain ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, PHTLS Instructor, and BLS Instructor certifications; current Illinois Paramedic licensure required.

Work Schedule

Per diem, varied schedule. Day/Evening shift, M-F, hours vary depending on classes and educational opportunities. You will work at the UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital.

Additional components of compensation may include:

Evening, night, and weekend shift differential
Overtime

Qualifications

• No minimum education required.

Work Experience

• Prefer active EMT-P, RN with current field and teaching experience. Preferred
• At least two years field experience in Emergency Services. Required

Licenses & Certifications

• Within first year of employment must attain the following certifications; Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Instructor, Basic Life Support Instructor. Required
• Basic Life Support/CPR Certification. Required
• Current Illinois Paramedic licensure within the State of Illinois. Required
