Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking an EMS Educator to develop and provide orientation, continuing education, and assessments of clinical staff in line with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with managers to identify learning needs and design curricula for clinical competencies and policy adherence.

The role requires RN or EMT-P credentials with five years of critical care and teaching experience, plus two years in course coordination.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing or Paramedic program.
• Current RN licensure or EMT-P license
• Five years of critical care experience and one year of teaching experience
• Two years in course coordination
• CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS)
• CPR-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• CPR-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• IDPH Lead Instructor within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
• Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculum related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
• Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
• Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
