Job summary

Forsyth Technical Community College seeks a dedicated EMS Instructor to deliver high-quality didactic and laboratory instruction for EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic courses. The role involves collaboration with the EMS Program Director and requires adherence to NC OEMS and CoAEMSP guidelines.

The Instructor will teach at Forsyth Tech locations, participate in curriculum development, and support student success from recruitment through graduation.

Qualifications

• Current NC Paramedic credential in good standing with NC OEMS.
• North Carolina Level I Paramedic Instructor certification through NC OEMS.
• Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution; hours/degrees from a US-DOE accredited college.
• Minimum 3 years of active EMS field experience (education may substitute).
• EVOS Instructor or equivalent course approved by NC OEMS (or within 12 months of hire).
• Strong knowledge of EMS education requirements and current practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and LMS tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver didactic and lab instruction for EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic courses.
• Teach across curriculum-based and continuing education programs per NC OEMS and CoAEMSP guidelines.
• Collaborate with EMS Program Director and EMS Assistant Program Director; mentor students.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with curriculum development and assessment design.
• Engage with community partners; recruit and support student success; support equity and inclusion.
