Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a dedicated EMS Dispatcher to coordinate the distribution of EMS and other medical vehicles for patient transport to and from Harris Health System facilities.

The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and proficiency with EMS terminology, CAD Dispatch System, and EMR tools. A Diploma/GED with experience in call centers or dispatch centers is preferred, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have Diploma/GED; degree preferred and Texas EMT/Dispatch credentials as applicable.
• Experience in call centers, dispatch centers, or customer care settings.
• Proficiency with EMS terminology and medical communication standards.
• Ability to type 40–49 WPM and operate CAD/EMR systems accurately.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EMS and medical vehicle distribution for patient transport requests.
• Use CAD/EMR systems to dispatch resources and document actions.
• Collaborate with Transfer Center, clinical care teams, and leadership for efficiency.
