Job summary

Virginia Peninsula Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach EMS courses including EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, and related disciplines. Classes may be scheduled day, evening, or weekend, with loads based on enrollment and staffing needs.

Ideal candidates hold an EMS degree (regionally accredited) and current Paramedic certification, plus a commitment to student-centered learning and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in EMS or related field from regionally accredited institution.
• Current National Registry certification at Paramedic level or Virginia Paramedic certification.
• Ability to adapt teaching to diverse learners and adult education needs.
• Prior teaching or instructional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver instruction for day and evening classes.
• Maintain on-campus presence and provide timely communication with students and staff.
• Assess and grade students and manage records and deadlines.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment for diverse learners.
