Job summary

Brightpoint Community College in Chesterfield (041) invites applications for an EMS Education Adjunct (Part-time). The position may teach on the Chester or Midlothian campus or from the Nursing Education Center on Midlothian Turnpike and pays $793‑$1,693 per credit hour.

The role is exempt under FLSA and is classified as a faculty—full‑time or part‑time (Part‑time). Minimum of 16 hours per semester, with up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring semesters.

Qualifications

  • Virginia state and nationally certified EMT-Paramedic.
  • Virginia State EMS Education Coordinator certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent EMS/Paramedic and teaching experience.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Care or EMS-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Certifications: AHA BLS instructor, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, EPC, and AMLS-Instructor.
  • Ability to use instructional technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lecture and practical courses in the EMS program, including EMT Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, RN to Paramedic, Intermediate to Paramedic Bridge, AHA CPR, and First Aid.
  • Participate on college committees and carry out other department and college‑related responsibilities.
  • Teaching responsibilities may occur on either campus or at the Nursing Education Center.
  • Support the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor, if required.

Overview

Brightpoint Community College is hiring an EMS Education Adjunct (Part‑time). The role is located in Chesterfield (041) and may be taught on either the Chester or Midlothian campus or from the Nursing Education Center on Midlothian Turnpike. The position pays $793‑$1,693 per credit hour and may teach up to 8 credit hours in the summer semester and 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs. The position is exempt under FLSA and is classified as a faculty—full‑time or part‑time (Part‑time).
