Job summary

Network for Hope (NFH) seeks an EMR Coordinator to manage NFH access to hospital EMR systems and coordinate internal EMR processes. You will support onboarding, access changes, and terminations for staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with access standards and documentation.

You will collaborate with NFH departments and hospital staff to validate changes, coordinate testing, and assist with system improvements and training initiatives. A healthcare background is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related healthcare field required. Equivalent work experience in healthcare settings may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal EMR user access including onboarding, role-based changes, and termination of access for staff and contractors.
• Verify access aligns with responsibilities and organizational standards.
• Maintain documentation of access approvals, changes and removals.
• Receive, track, and manage internal EMR change requests from department leads.
• Coordinate review, testing and implementation of approved system changes.
• Assist Data Supervisor with validating system updates, enhancements and fixes.
• Troubleshoot system issues and resolve basic user problems.
• Track recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements.
• Manage onboarding, modification, and termination of hospital EMR access for NFH staff.
• Maintain access inventories and related documentation.
• Complete documentation to secure and maintain access privileges.
• Serve as liaison between NFH and hospital or third-party personnel on EMR access issues.
• Coordinate with Education and Development to train staff on hospital EMR access.

Job description

At Network for Hope (NFH), the EMR Coordinator manages and maintains NFH access to hospital electronic medical record (EMR) systems and coordinates internal EMR processes and system improvements. This role collaborates with internal departments and hospital personnel to support efficient access workflows, appropriate record retrieval, system maintenance, and continuous process improvement.

Primary Duties

• Manage internal EMR user access, including onboarding, role-based access changes, and termination of access for employees and contractors.
• Verify user access aligns with job responsibilities and organizational access standards.
• Maintain documentation of access approvals, changes, and removals.
• Receive, track, and manage internal EMR change requests from NFH department leads.
• Coordinate the review, prioritization, testing, and implementation of approved system changes.
• Assist the Data Supervisor with validating system updates, enhancements, and fixes.
• Assist with troubleshooting system issues and resolving basic user problems.
• Track recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements.

Hospital EMR Access Management

• Manage onboarding, modification, and termination of hospital EMR access for NFH staff.
• Maintain access inventories and related documentation.
• Complete and process required documentation to secure and maintain access privileges.
• Serve as the primary liaison between NFH and hospital or third-party personnel regarding hospital EMR access issues.
• Coordinate with the Education and Development Department to develop, implement, and maintain hospital EMR access training for staff.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate degree in a related healthcare field required. Equivalent work experience in a healthcare, OPO, or hospital setting may substitute for education requirements.

Experience:

Minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare setting required, with experience in health information management, quality assurance, or data analysis preferred. Familiarity with hospital records, EMR systems, and medical terminology is required.
