Job summary

Proudworks in Northern Kentucky seeks an Supported Employment Specialist to provide person-centered vocational services to adults with disabilities and to support Norse Project SEARCH interns at Northern Kentucky University. The Employment Specialist guides participants through career discovery, planning, employer outreach, applications, interviews, placement, on-the-job training, and long-term follow-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting people with disabilities or barriers to employment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Partner with participants to develop individualized employment plans.
• Assist with résumés, cover letters, references, and interview preparation.
• Identify employment pathways and build relationships with employers and partners.
• Orient participants to job sites, schedules, pay practices, and safety.
• Provide on-site job coaching and workplace readiness training.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting as required.
• Support interns across NKU departments at Norse Project SEARCH.
• Collaborate with families, support teams, and agency staff to promote outcomes.
