Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

The DSP will assist with daily living activities, implement Behavioral Support Plans, promote independence, and help individuals participate in medical appointments and community activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required.
• Experience with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs).
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed.
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.
