Job summary

GAAMHA in Gardner, MA seeks a dedicated Job Trainer to empower individuals with I/DD through hands-on coaching, task analysis, and compassionate feedback. You’ll support learning in a day services setting, helping participants build independence, confidence, and daily living skills while reinforcing workplace routines.

In the Snack Shack program you’ll supervise operations, teach cashiering, money handling, and customer service, manage inventory, and document progress.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus, but compassion and dedication matter most.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong communication and empathetic approach are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one training and support, showing tasks clearly and offering constructive feedback.
• Break down complex tasks into smaller steps tailored to each learner.
• Create a motivating environment and celebrate progress.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates with supervisors.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and Employment Specialists to provide holistic support.
• Supervise Snack Shack operations, including cashiering, inventory, and daily tasks.
