Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is seeking a dedicated Career Navigator to provide comprehensive career guidance and job search support for participants. You will conduct assessments, guide resume and interview prep, and help with training program enrollment and financial aid.

Responsibilities include follow-up assessments, barrier identification, and collaborative goal setting to create tailored career plans, plus post-placement support for long-term success.

Qualifications

• Experience in career counseling, coaching, or HR; strong understanding of job market trends and employer expectations.
• Proficient in using career assessment tools and job search platforms; good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish a routine to stay connected with participants (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
• Utilize standardized career assessments to measure interests, skills, and values.
• Conduct in-depth interviews to understand career aspirations and challenges.
• Review job search progress including resume/cover letter development and interview prep.
• Identify barriers such as transportation, childcare, or finances and address them.
• Schedule regular follow-ups to set goals and tailor job search plans.
• Provide guidance on training programs, financial aid, enrollment, and academic progress.
• Organize workshops on job readiness, soft skills, and industry training.
• Assist with job placement through employer networking, referrals, and mock interviews.
• Offer post-placement support for retention and career advancement.
