YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a full-time Counselor and Support Group Facilitator to provide trauma-informed emotional support and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The role includes individual counseling and leading in-house and community support groups, with collaboration across the advocacy team to link clients with resources and safety planning.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, two years of relevant experience, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed, survivor-centered care is required.
• Experience counseling, advocacy, or other direct human services.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide trauma-informed, non-clinical support and individual counseling to survivors and their non-offending loved ones.
• Facilitate in-house and community-based support and psychoeducational groups.
• Collaborate with advocacy staff to connect participants with resources, safety planning, and referrals.
• Coordinate the annual support group schedule and maintain confidential client documentation.
• Provide crisis intervention, hotline support, shelter services, and medical/legal accompaniments.
• Serve as an on-call advocate and participate in team meetings, case reviews, and community outreach.
• Support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
