The University of West Alabama is seeking a Financial Aid Assistant to provide comprehensive financial aid services to students, and to advise on scholarships, grants, and programs. The role emphasizes helping students understand policies and procedures related to financial aid and navigating the application process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.
At least one year full-time equivalent experience related to the duties described for this position.
Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Performs exceptional customer service for students, employees, and the public by responding to inquiries concerning financial aid eligibility and policies.
Counsels and advises students and parents on the Financial Aid process.
Awards student aid based on independent assessment and interprets/modifies aid packages as needed.
Maintain the front office area and manage Zoom Zendesk operations for calls and tickets.
Coordinate communications with the financial aid email account for students and staff.
Handle all visitors for on-demand/walk-in financial aid counseling.
Process incoming mail: retrieve, open, date-enter, and route.
Provide information on financial aid applications and federal/state guidelines; participate in outreach events.
