Herscher Intermediate School in Herscher, Illinois, seeks a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will support Pre-K through Grade 8, collaborating with staff to provide an instructional program tailored to individual needs and aligned with district objectives.

The role requires a valid Illinois teaching license with endorsements and a bachelor’s degree with credential coursework. Experience through student teaching or prior teaching is preferred.

Formación

• Valid IL teaching license with proper endorsements.
• Bachelor’s Degree including credential coursework.
• Experience: Student Teaching, Internship, or Previous Employment in Teaching Position.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate qualification and competency with area of assigned instruction.
• Effectively communicate content knowledge and applications in area of assigned instruction.
• Design/implement instruction in compliance with prescribed district curriculum and objectives.
• Utilize instructional tools and apply instructional strategy of current best practice.
• Communicate with parents positively, professionally, and regularly including parent-teacher conferences.
• Engage students in whole group instruction, small group instruction, and individual instruction.
• Establish/maintain standards of student conduct and control required to achieve full participation in all activities.
• Create/maintain an organized, uncluttered workspace with display emphasis on function and content.
• Engage supervisor cooperatively.
• Engage/interacts with colleagues respectfully.
• Maintain/provide records including evaluation of student performance with accuracy and according to timeline.
• Engage in professional development.
• Participate in school-wide supervision of students during out of classroom activity.
• Participate in staff meetings, district/school committees.
• Participate in student activities by attending, volunteering, sponsoring, or coaching.
• Other duties as assigned
